ARES Vietnam Conducts ISO 45001:2018 Certification Assessment at BIWELCO Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company

In the construction sector, occupational health and safety is not only a compliance requirement but also a core factor that determines project quality and long-term sustainability.
Therefore, establishing a clear, transparent management system with the ability to maintain control across multiple construction sites becomes a key condition. It helps enterprises sustain execution efficiency while minimizing operational risks.
Based on this approach, BIWELCO Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company has proactively implemented the ISO 45001 certification assessment (Occupational Health & Safety Management System), with the support of ARES Vietnam’s expert team.
COMPANY INFORMATION
- Company Name: BIWELCO Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company
- Address: No. 303, Street 85, Tan Phu Quarter, Tan Hiep Ward, Ho Chi Minh City
- Business Scope: Civil and industrial construction
- Assessment Scope: ISO 45001:2018 Certification
BIWELCO has the capability to execute multiple projects simultaneously, each with different scales and technical characteristics. At the same time, every construction site requires close coordination between construction teams, technical supervision, and material management, while schedules and working conditions are constantly changing.
As a result, this diversity and dispersion create higher demands on the management system. It must ensure consistency, maintain end-to-end control, and adapt flexibly to each project phase.

KEY FOCUS AREAS IN THE ISO 45001:2018 CERTIFICATION AUDIT
Within the certification assessment, ARES Vietnam focused on reviewing the core components of BIWELCO’s management system, based on its multi-site operational model.
For ISO 45001, the assessment primarily focused on risk identification and safety control in high-risk construction environments.
The expert team conducted the following activities:
- Direct observation at high-altitude working areas and heavy equipment operations
- Discussions with supervisors and workers
- Review of documents, procedures, and implementation evidence
Accordingly, the assessment evaluated:
- Compliance with safety regulations
- Consistency across construction sites
- Effectiveness of risk control measures
This multi-dimensional approach provides an accurate reflection of actual operations, rather than focusing only on documentation. In addition, the entire assessment was carried out using an integrated approach, combining: on-site observation, document and record analysis, and interviews with relevant personnel at different levels.
As a result, ARES Vietnam was able to obtain a comprehensive view of the operational system. At the same time, key improvement areas were clearly identified before moving to the certification stage.

RESULTS AND SIGNIFICANCE
Through the ISO 45001 audit program, BIWELCO has gradually standardized its management model. Moreover, it has enhanced coordination across construction sites and strengthened safety control in project execution.
ARES Vietnam also recognized the company’s structured preparation and professional cooperation throughout the assessment process. This serves as a solid foundation for BIWELCO to enter the certification stage with a high level of readiness, ensuring that the system operates effectively in practice.
